Message from Sriharidas Kanuru, MD Foundations Endowment committee chairman GMCANA.

I visited Guntur Medical College in October 98 and had an opportunity to see the Pediatric department in the hospital and presented neonatal resuscitation equipment.

The Department of Pediatrics badly needs basic equipment like Ambu bags, laryngoscopes, weighing scales, suction apparatus and so many small things that can make tremendous difference in improving the quality of life and needs of poorer children. There is no hope of that the government can help in the near future and we are all well aware of the problems.

The department is sincerely requesting to meet some of these basic needs.

Incidentally, I was blessed with a grandson in September 1998. My family is overjoyed by this new member. I am sure that you share the same feeling.

This happy incident brought forth an idea to help the poor children in Guntur General Hospital where the grandparents of these sick children also can have happy moments in their life.

I want to you join in this endeavor to form a group of Guntur Medical College Alumni of North American Grandparents Association.

The grandchildren biographical data will be on our web site, www.gmcana.org at GMCANA Grand children's corner, in a special page devoted to grand children with their picture for our friends to share the information and joy. Let us donate the small amount of $ 100.00 or more for each grand child and add to the fund with each arrival in the future as our GPA increases.

This small donation at our happy events can generate a substantial amount to buy the life saving equipment for the deserving, innocent children who can give joy to their respective grandparents.

I am very enthusiastic and excited about this idea. I hope that you feel the same and will help make this happen. Your participation in this project will be encouraging to me. Please call other grandparents and let us celebrate this joy. Our GMCANA’s President, Ravikumar Tripuraneni, graciously agreed to make a place in our GMCANA web site. I very much appreciate his support."

	Rohan is the first grand son of Uppuluri Venkatasubbbarao (63), past president of GMCANA, and Saraswati of Chicago and son of Doddpaneni Babu Satya Krishna (87) an alumnus of GMC also and Jeevani. He was born in Dec 2003.
	Jaya Lakshmi born on April 9, 2002 to Drs Sriram Choudary and Uma Perni Proud grandparents are Veeraiah Choudary and Swarajya Lakshmi Perni both alumni of GMC Proud maternal Grand parents are Dr Sukumar and Bhanumathi Chapa from Osmania They have been active members and are donating over $ 30,000 to the development of OB & Gyn Wing at GMC/ GGH in addition to being the Chairman of Board of trustees of GMCANA. They also donated $ 500 for development of Pediatrics to help needy children

	Sahvan Kumar born on Dec 19, 2001 to Mihir Kumar Patel and Balachandrika Proud grandparents are Ramaraja and Sulochana Yalavarthi both alumni of GMC They have been active members and donated over $ 10,000 to the development GMC/ GGH in addition to being one of the fore fathers of GMCANA.
	Navya born on January 14, 2000, daughter of Swamy and Sandhya Nagubadi Proud grand father is Ramamurthy Nagubadi ('63) alumni of GMC and grand mother is Aruna Kuamri. A generous donation of $100 was made towards the betterment of GGH pediatrics from grandparents to help needy children.
	Sohan Arun , Born 9-18-99, son of Madhu and Madhuri Kancherla Proud Grandmother is Parvathi, Proud Grandfather is Arunaprasad Kancherla ('60) president of GMCANA. A generous donation of $250 was made towards the betterment of GGH pediatrics from grandparents on mother 's and father's side to help needy children.
	Ashwin Ram Kanuru, Born 09-17-1998, son of Narendra & Archana. Proud Grandfather is Koganti Poornachandra Rao, Alumni of GMC (Post graduate), Proud Grandmother is Nirmala. Proud Grandfather is Sriharidas Kanuru, Alumni of GMC, Proud Grandmother is Kamala. A generous donation of $1,750 was made towards the betterment of GGH pediatrics from grandparents on mother's and father's side to help needy children.

A generous donation of $200 was made towards the betterment of GMC/GGH pediatrics to help needy children.
