OBITUARY:  

Our beloved Sivannarayana Paturi was born on January 1, 1943 in Vunguturu, West Godavari District.  He was born one of six children in a farming family.  He was the first and only to pursue medical education in his family and his village.  He did undergraduate studies in Andhra Loyola College , Vijayawada and medical studies in Guntur Medical College (64).  He worked in Ireland and then England for five years and did his Anesthesia residency at Valh all a NY Medical College. He was an attending anesthesiologist at Coney Island Hospital , New York .

He was a family man.  He met his wife, Mani, in Guntur Medical College .
They got married in 1968 and had two children, Anuradha and Kumar
Paturi, doctor and lawyer respectively.  His wife cherishes 37 years of friendship

with her husband.   When he found out he was going to be a grandfather, he started calling himself 'Big Daddy' and was anxiously waiting to be called 'tata' (grandfather). Today he is our angel.  He passed away on November 10, 2002 two days before his first grandson Siva was born.

His passion in life was to give back to the land of his birth that he loved and missed so much, India .  In January of 2002, he opened a library in his village.  His dream was to build a medical clinic also which is currently in progress. He was one of the pillars of 7^th GMCANA Reunion in Long Island in 2000.  We are blessed with those memories and we offer our sincere condolences to the family.
